Tim Davie was head of Radio during the time that the campaign to save 6 music existed so he knows full well how closing radio stations can lead to major campaigns against it.

Indeed, radio stations are very different to TV in the way that audiences think of them. Radio stations are very personal, people feel more ownership with them than a TV channel and are feel much more passionate toward them. It's a more personal medium.
