BBC News and BBC World to merge

Hopefully this means a return to double headed presentation, at least in some parts of day, since now they can join the presenting talent from both channels.

Given that pretty much the main saving in merging the two channels is an ability to cut staff, I imagine that the chances of double-headed presentation is very low. I expect we are going to see another reduction in the BBC News presenter pool over the next few months.
