David Tennant similarly appeared in the 50th anniversary, along with a guest appearance by Tom Baker. I seem to recall they had hoped to include Christopher Eccleston, but as he didn't wish to be involved they had John Hurt as the 'War Doctor'.I know. I totally get *why* they are doing it, I just feel that the start of a new era isn't the right time.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are further announcements regarding the anniversary special, and quite possibly including other past Doctors appearing.
Multi-Doctor stories should not be at the start of a new Doctor's 'reign'.
Part of the fun of multi-Doctor stories is seeing how the previous Doctors play off against the current one, and you need the current one to be established for that to even work dramatically.
However - I fully acknowledge RTD is a genius at this sort of thing he knows both television and Doctor WHo a lot better than I do.
So I will happily wait and see what transpires.
I'd just personally rather get on with seeing the new Doctor - who looks to be an inspired casting choice - than see Tennant yet again.

Potentially he might be open to the idea of appearing on screen again for the 60th, although I think he has said he wouldn't want to appear with other Doctors. So maybe a stand alone episode with him might be possible.
He will not be working with RTD, Collinson and others again, I'll wager. They are in charge again now, and it was them he had issues with in the first place.
That he's doing the audios is fantastic (see what I did there?), I think it's the best we will ever get.
Additionally, from the little he's given away about why he wasn't happy, I fully support his decision not to return, as disappointing as that's always been from a dramatic perspective.
Would have been easy for him to take the money and the glory, he's not that sort of a man though, clearly.
