I think it is good that Ukraine has shown a desire to host rather than instantly say they can't, which they could have easily done. Morale wise, it will be a boost for the Ukrainian population to see a potential light at the end of the tunnel.
However, realistically, it is unlikely they will be able to host unless the war ends soon and a concerted effort it made to get the host city back up and running. I think the government will appreciate that and privately come up with a backup plan, which I think is realistically a co-hosting arrangement with the UK.
