I suspect that's down to this country simply not warming to American chat shows, both when they're imported and when we try to attempt the format ourselves (see The Nightly Show). Though as a subsidiary of Comcast, I'm presuming they're getting a worse deal on showing TLLS compared to The Tonight Show that they're also showing.
I always felt Craig Ferguson's tenure stood out enough to have possibly found a bit of a cult following over here if it were given a chance, not least because of his roots in the UK, but his surreal humour and tendancy to shun a lot of the clichés of the format might've proven different enough to find its place.
