BBC One: 2022 Idents

Is 'Lido' official BBC wording, or is it just TVLF phrasing?

I must admit - and I hope I'm not alone in this - I had to Google 'lido' to understand what it means.

Other than the gentleman who missed the boat at the start of the Boz Scaggs song, I'd never come across the word before.

Yeah, I think it's a southern term tbh. I've heard the term before but wasn't sure what it was, and by complete co-incidence a couple months back a Flog It repeat I saw had a section on them.

I always just called them a 'swimming pool' or 'public pool' (or just 'pool') - only difference I think is a lido is outside

A lido is bigger and a different shape to an outdoor pool iirc and is normally used as a single body of water. An outdoor pool can have lanes and other installments I believe.
