Is it likely the HD feed would be through a different company than the SD feed?

pure speculation but I'm going to say yes, possibly. Aside from RT being explicitly listed as a globecast customer for the HD channel but not SD, the way the channels were removed was done differently. HD simply had the DVB streams removed from the multiplex, SD kept them up but went to a black screen and tone (and still is)

nothing's happened at a satellite/transponder level, just the contents within

edit: taking a look with TSreader, the PMT for RT HD is still there but none of the elementary streams for it are there anymore
