It will be interesting to see what impact this has on the Paralympics - in any other country you'd expect multiple signs of support for Ukraine, but in China I'm not so sure athletes will feel as free to express such views.
I suspect the IPC will come under massive pressure this week to ban Russia from competing or other counties will withdraw. Could be a very bumpy buildup as the BBC are reporting the IPC believe they have no legal basis to do so and any attempt would be overturned at CAS. Decisions by CAS could have a big effect on sporting events in the months to come.
