They can only really exist on Tuesday 8-9 and Thursday 8.30 (if Emmerdale goes for an hour).
I can see why they've gone for the soap block as they can have 90 minutes in the heart of primetime with decent ratings, without the gap that was designed for Eastenders to slot in.
With Eastenders considerably weaker, it will be interesting to see how the BBC responds. They can at least give the soap a regular slot, as it will be impossible to avoid the ITV soaps, but to where?
