BBC Radio Devon are always on air after 10pm, as they produce the show that goes out on Cornwall, Guernsey & Jersey at that time.

Not last night, the shared programme didn't go out in Devon, and possibly not in Cornwall either. The presenter who'd been on Devon since 6pm stayed on. Presumably the South West regional came from one studio in Plymouth and the Devon/Cornwall programme in the other.

As far as developments go, there was nothing until about 9.15pm, when Devon & Cornwall Police released their first statement. After that, developments in the story came at a fairly rapid pace until after midnight, when Devon & Cornwall Police released that there had been 6 fatalities.

So as I said for 10:30 there was barely anything to say, the rough details from the first statement from police and then nothing till after midnight. There was a reporter nearby but again that was it, with the police operation ongoing and the area cordoned off they wouldn't have had much of any pictures. That's really not enough to justify a longer bulletin.

BBC Radio Devon could have easily shared resources with the TV operation, they work out of the same building

No because they were probably being stretched as it was, without suddenly adding the demand of filling another 10 or 20 minutes of TV airtime - especially when there was little content. Bearijg in mind that it sounded like they were doing two radio programmes and also supplying newsgathering effort to network too.
