Happened a lot in analogue days, the BBC and ITV regions weren't identical. There were a bunch of relay transmitters in the Todmorden area that carried either BBC North and Granada or BBC North West and Yorkshire
Marlborough used to be BBC West, and ITV Southern. That was quietly moved to HTV West in January 82. There was a slight plus about such relays sat on regional TV borders, that you could decide which direction to consume your news from
