A frequent complaint from myself and other friends and family is how poor weather coverage is here in the UK, especially on an on demand basis.
Unless you wait around for the forecast after the news on the main terrestrial channels, or wait for the half hour on the news channel with no guarantee they’ll show it in place of news coverage - there’s no way to get a decent weather forecast that’s updated through the day when you want it.
Of course there’s the websites but they only give you a regional picture which can prove somewhat unreliable with a very clunky national picture, and the same can be said if you can still access the weather on Digital Text (BBCi). Met Office uploads video forecasts online, but they’re only updated twice a day and increasingly becoming just a voiceover over a map.
You can get News and Sport on TV on demand when you want it, why can’t you Weather given that’s a much bigger British obsession.
