On my viewing feed at the BBC right now, Alex's mic is hitting 5 PPM (the correct level) but only after turning up the feed by 13.5dB (although I don't know if the incoming feed has been calibrated properly, so I'm largely ignoring that).
Meanwhile Simon is barely hitting 2.5 PPM. The think tank guest was also significantly louder than Simon. That interview happened while Alex went off set to fix her mic (dead battery?). When she returned we heard mic ruffling (being taken off the think tank guest?) and then a female voice (probably the guest on air now) on the programme sound being lined up ("Yes I can hear you...")
