In a way, the launch night figures are 'irrelevant' - there were always naturally going a lot of people tuning in to sample the channel (especially considering the amount of hype/attention GB News received pre-launch). The test for the channel will be the audience numbers their shows a month, three months, six months, a year, etc from now.
Even tomorrow's audiences will be interesting to watch. Specifically the GBB ones. I can't see how people who want the news would watch it and those who want to watch some debate will quickly see that it's incredibly superficial and full of presenter banter padding. Even a short check of the headlines would be good every half hour, pre-launch I thought that that would be the format with Rosie Wright being the newsreader.
