I've never understood why people think this so unbelievable and ridiculous. It's called accountability, it shows the strength of having independent teams. The BBC is not some homogenous being that can't criticise itself – it's an organisation of teams and departments. Of course one arm can report on another arm, especially it's we're talking about soemthing that happened decades ago. That's healthy.
That may well be, but they're all still operating under the same brand and they wouldn't want to "stir the pot" too much in case it had negative repercussions for them, too. Remember, if the BBC goes, then they'd be out of a job!
Looking at the image for the actual programme, the graphic designs certainly didn't hold back!

I don't think The BBC will be going anywhere. It might get a kicking and this affair will certainly leave a scar. The BBC has a lot of its reputation to clean up now. It needs reform regardless of this whole drama and that would have happened anyway. This may just speed it up and make it more orientated towards certain parts of the reform/BBC. It mainly dials into the same old thing of journalists going too far. And perhaps the BBC journalists thought they were above it and it "can't happen here" type thinking. But it did, and there will need to be some kind of shake up in that area of the BBC. LBC had a very good discussion this morning with with Nick Ferrari and various relevant people calling in who used to work at the corporation. Even Nick Ferrairi didn't say it would mean the end of the BBC! (although I didn't hear the whole show)
