sorry, just to clarify - does this mean that the journos can't see the presser just hear it? when I spoke to a sky engineer few weeks back at Buckingham palace he said that Downing Street have their own two DSLR cameras that they use for their own feed of the presser (for their social media etc, which is why it's a different look to the one on tv), and they use the video from this to be the 'webcams' for the zoom. Maybe he was wrong ??♂️
No, the jornos can see and hear whatever No10 are feeding them on the Zoom (or whatever) feed, because they are using laptops connected via regular Wifi to t'internet.
What I'm saying is, in the BBC's case their web conference engines (that have SDI inputs and outputs to allow Zoom etc interviews to be put to air, are unable (to easily) feed those SDI inputs with studio or programme video) .
Sky and ITN might be able to. GMB certainly can, because recently Patsy Palmer saw the caption referring to her, and objected to its content
So when GMB do their remote interviews (I think we discussed this on another thread) the guest will basically be looking At the studio output in their zoom? Whereas BBC don’t have the capacity to do that?
