Clarification regarding "rota talk"
#1
Over the last couple of days, rota talk has got a little bit out of control, and I feel some clarification is required. DanielK pretty much summed it up in the Feedback thread, and I've made some slight edits to his comment in the Feedback thread to explain it clearer.

As of now...
  • There is to be no tracking of who worked what shift, or how long their 'stretch' of shifts are. We're not interested in how many days in a row a presenter has worked.
  • No rotas or schedule discussion is allowed unless it's a significant change, for example if there's a change in the listings due to a breaking news event.
  • Discussion of abnormal or different presenters accolated to programmes (ie if Susanna Reid presented News at Ten for a week) is allowed, but a regular fill-in on ITV News at Ten like Rageh or any of the other ITV News presenters isn't.
  • You are allowed to discuss presenters leaving and joining new channels, as well as those moving to new time slots, as long as they are significant. The weekend overnight presenter on Sky News moving to do Friday, Saturday, Sunday evenings isn't majorly relevant, but Huw Edwards moving to BBC Breakfast is.
  • Personal lives are off limits unless the presenter themselves openly discuss it in the press or on-air.

I do hope that this clears up what is and what isn't acceptable in this part of the site.

NOTE: These guidelines have also been added to the Site Rules.
I'm on Andover Radio every Saturday afternoon from 4pm-6pm. Follow me on Twitter.
