Thanks, Rob, for everything you did to help us deal with the closure of TV Forum. I know from firsthand experience what it’s like to be involved with running a forum and the nasty people it can bring you into contact with. I completely understand and support your decision to bring it to a close.

That being said, I want to thank the many, many lovely, courteous and generous people I have met over the past 21 years. You all more than outweigh the toxic minority and I want to say thank you for all these years of good conversation and fascinating insights.

I’m glad I was here for the first day of TV Forum in 2001 and the last of TV Live Forum. It’s been an amazing ride. I can’t say with any certainty that I’ll join one of the new forums. I don’t feel it will ever be the same and I’m content with my memories. I guess time will tell.

So, thank you, Rob and, of course, Asa for creating our community in the first place. You’ve brought immense joy to a lot of people.

Thank you to Rob and the mods for doing a great job running the site, and to all those who have contributed.

I’ve been posting here, and previously on TV Forum, for over 20 years in total (formerly known as Spencer For Hire). I guess I’ve been coming here more out of habit lately than for a passion for TV pres, which if I’m honest doesn’t excite me as it did. I don’t even watch much TV these days.

So I think I’ll wait until something actively motivates me to want to discuss it before signing up to a new forum, rather than signing up to a site for the sake of it. Hopefully at that point it’ll be clear which forum is a worthy successor to this one.

So maybe see you lovely folks when the big BBC News rebrand happens… or if I just get bored in the meantime… or maybe I might just not bother.

It's been great having this site and have loved dipping in and out of various discussions. Would have participated a bit more than just reading had I not lost my password during the move from phpBB to myBB - got there in the end though.

Well, this is it for me. Still feels strange having to say goodbye to yet another forum. Enough has been said about the circumstances.

I would just like to say a huge thanks to everyone for keeping the community alive after TVF closed. Rob, the mods, all the members. Thank you and all the best!

I've been here since the forum launched, but has been a lurker for the most part, only having spoken once in a BBC Three forum and made a mock once. Regardless, I've made many memories here in the past year watching the discussions of TV pres and the mocks made by the users here, so I'd love to say to thank to Rob and the rest of the team for managing this place alongside everyone else here.

I'll be using Pres Cafe and TV Talk Forum in the future, hopefully going from lurker to poster and I hope to make as many memories there as with here, but for now, goodbye.

And, of course, I'll remember to switch off my set

When TVForum announced its closure, those of us at The Ident Gallery, The TV Room and TV Whirl did consider a forum, but Rob was there to get the ball rolling a lot quicker.

The circumstances around Rob's understandable decision to close this forum are awful, and have left us under no illusion what could potentially lie in store.

However, we hope to continue the TVForum legacy at Pres Café, and whilst there may initial teething problems (as there always can be) it's our intent to create a good place to carry on the discussions.

Thank you Rob for holding the baton! Now have that pint.
