I've been a lurker on here and the blue place, and have loved reading this forum almost every day since it launched. I find all of this fascinating and although I don't post myself, reading through the threads has been a pleasure (and sometimes an escape!)

As I don't normally post I just wanted to thank you Rob (and the mods!) for all you've done for us - I know many people don't realise the amount of work it takes to get somewhere to this quality. And I also want to thank all of the lovely people who have contributed to the discussions over the years. I wish you all the best in the future

Yes, it's not the best of situations at the moment, but I wouldn't want the forum to end on a sour note. Let's try and keep things positive please.

It's very kind of you not to name me Rob but the truth is this forum is ending on a sour note.  Not saying it's your fault but the situation and reason makes it so.  As time was running out and even though I have never got a warning or been banned I decided to just was express my frustration.   

Sorry if anyone was offended.  I have now censored part of the swear words.

I'll probably feel bad about asking this tomorrow morning, but my inner sense of "you wouldn't let it lie" is getting the better of me. Whilst I understand nobody wants to "stoop" and name and shame the people who have hurt Rob, isn't there a sense of injustice here, where these assholes got what they wanted, reduced poor Rob to giving up on TVLF, and they sit smugly proud of their actions without anyone calling them out for it?

Let's not give them the oxygen of publicity or waste the few days left here berating them.   Rob has said what he wants to say on the matter so let's respect that.

P.S.   I've not said anything about the mods yet so just want to throw a word of thanks their way for what I know is a thankless task, and I apologise for the times I may have made it more thankless than it needed to be.   It was a tough task though picking up the mantle after the issues which occured in the final months at the blue place and it took a while for this place to settle into something a bit more free flowing again it did get there in the end thanks to your hard work.    So thank you all to your contribution over the last 18 months and the support you've given Rob.

That being said, maybe you can let someone else take the reins of this site? I'm sure there's plenty of experienced folk here (Or at least make it an archive, I have a lot of branding ideas in the Gallery I'd like preserved)

I've decided to close the forum earlier than advertised. I've had enough of it now. Still getting hassle from certain people, and I can't take much more.

I'm sorry that you're shutting down this forum due to what those nasty people did to you. This was a great forum and I'm sad that it's going defunct after a year of operation.

It's terrible. telebox2001 used the word "gammon" to describe people he disagreed with in the post following yours. 

Dunno why but some people (on both the left and the right) think that everybody logs in desperate to hear their political views on things and can't even keep the discourse civil by not calling people names. Here's some breaking news - no-one is interested and it destroys places like this.

In a way, yes though there are two forums that I use and are quite active as in Rangerboard and Anime Superhero.

I am NOT passing the forum onto somebody else, the moderators do NOT want to take the site on, and I am NOT selling the site to anyone.

Could people please stop asking about this, as it's getting rather repetitive now.

I think that is true, as I've said many times about sites like TV Ark etc, they've been overtaken by social media and other platforms. 

Why build and configure and host a web forum when you can use Reddit or Discord etc? Why host a website of video of old TV when YouTube etc will host it and give you a wider audience?

It's nothing really to do with what people's views are, it's about the ending of web 1.0

There's also a quality gap, to get a own hosted site looking and working as well as the big boys takes some talent and time. Rob and Asa had both and made quality products (although to be honest I never got on with the most recent incarnation of TVLF). Anything less than that and people aren't interested, they're used to the slickness of Facebook, Twitter etc
