Me and you both Sue. Correct decision though with Cam Norrie (British No.1 let us not forget) is very close to finishing on BBC Two. Doubt BBC Two will not miss that much.

The Norrie match was a belter, and all the better for having Cotter on commentary. I believe Kat Downes did the Raducanu match, which I suspect is her highest profile Wimbledon commentary to date.

It was. She was very good at it. I think Kat Downes has a good chance of eventually becoming like Clare Balding or Hazel Irvine and anchoring a multi sports games as she always seems fully knowledgable in whatever sport she is commentating on.

With Murray already on court there is every chance we might actually get a Today at Wimbledon tonight, and also actually see Clare Balding in vision

Probably only if Murray loses in three, in which case they'll likely be a 45 minute inquest anyway.

France TV does it all the time, since news bulletins are almost never getting preempted and both France 2 and France 3 have news at lunchtime and in the evening.

It's way less seamless than how the BBC does it and has been the source of criticism and ridicule online. There's even a Twitter account dedicated to '"la bascule" (the switch):

I watched a bit of the German coverage of the WInter Olympics as well, of course the time of day may have been a factor, but the coverage was on the same channel from start to finish each day, with frequent but brief news bulletins. Of course in Germany, the coverage of major events do alternate between ARD and ZDF almost daily (but some days the same channel as the day before showed the coverage), which depending on your viewpoint maybe more or less disruptive than channel changes at the same time daily.

It's ridiculous - and third night in a row the 8.30 show is gone too.

Just schedule it 7-9pm on BBC1 and stick Today at Wimbledon on after the news. Nobody can complain about it being late when the alternative is it not airing most nights at all.

France Télévisions coverage of the French Open was sensibly scheduled. Yes, viewers had to flick between 2, 3 and 4, but they also cancelled shows and then brought them back as soon as it finished. This gave certainty to viewers of the entertainment formats that were dropped, but also ensured France 2 kept their news bulletin at 8pm and then prime-time entertainment afterwards.

It's even more fun next week when the Women's Euros start, which if Murray and Raducanu get to the business end of things is going to cause an absolute train wreck.
