No problem!

I was referring to the football-kicking animation/graphic which appeared in the screen before the graphics sequence in the same screen.

Understood. She’s already out of vision so she doesn’t need to know exactly what we’re seeing

does anyone know what the director is doing with the keyboard? as in when she hits that key, is it to cue up the next camera shot? or to cycle through the items /shots in the running order/list?

Depends which key the director is pressing! But usually it’s Take Next and triggers whatever is next in the sequence to run. However the keyboard and touchscreen can be used to manually trigger all mannar of things on the fly. It can also drop or skip events, un-drop things (ie put events back in the order that have been previously dropped) and so on.

is that purely camera shots? or also to play VT /pull up titles/graphics?

The mosart automation system triggers everything.

Is it just me or is the layout of that graphic horrible?

The terrible font aside, the spacing between the letters of that poor man's name is awful. It might just be my eyes but the weight of the font spelling out Mr. Floyd's name is lighter than what goes above and below it - I should think it deserves greater emphasis.

Why is Mr. Floyd's name a mixture of upper and lower case too when the writing above and below it are full caps?

The gaps between the top and bottom of the strap and the writing above and below it aren't the same.

Very netowork.

I couldn’t play the titles above the screenshot on iPhone :-(

Only realised a small while ago, but today marks 13 years since the introduction of the modern-day BBC News branding which is still in use in some form today (albeit refined in 2013 and 2019).

so as a timeline - 2008 is 'BBC News 24' to 'BBC News', 2013 move to Broadcasting House and 2019 the introduction of Reith font?

I am trying to avoid rota discussion but it seems to be a significant change. Does this mean Victoria has moved to afternoon?

Also, the 9am newscast has been renamed BBC News at 9 instead of BBC News according to the EPG, and is no longer available on iPlayer starting Monday. But I don’t know if they used the numbered intro.

Some of the BBC One regions, given that they have no pre-recorded announcement yet for Victoria, seem to have had no-one available to do a live(?) announcement but had the national presenter doing the continuity. Therefore, no mention of the North West regional presenter, for example, before the start of the BBC News at One. (National continuity but graphic "BBC One North West" appeared on screen.)

The 9am news has been called BBC News at Nine for some time. The numbered intro (which IIRC was used for the evening version of the programme years ago when that ran) isn't used for the morning programme, which started a while ago after Annita announced it on Twitter. It has been available on I-Player as a legacy of it continuing to be simulcast on BBC Two. Thanks for the heads up on it no longer being kept for 24 hours on the I-Player, so I know I will now have to get up earlier if I want to see the programme. Dropping the I-Player, which seems to have happened already, brings it into line with the 11am news (what used to be Newsroom Live).
Previously the 9am cast was list ‘BBC News: BBC News at 9’ on iPlayer, but on the EPG it was simply named ‘BBC News’ since Covid. Starts on Monday it has been called ‘BBC News at 9’ on both platforms again, same as the pre-Covid era.

The iPlayer VOD is back…

And Newscast has returned on BBC One but still no fixed slot on the News Channel, the EPG mistakenly put Newscast into The Media Show slot.

Annita is great but surprising as she doesn't normally do weekends and this is her fifth day in a row, wonder if she'll do Dateline London. Normal presenters of slot are Shaun Ley and Geeta Guru-Murthy who are fairly regular news channel presenters.

Intrestingly it seems Dateline London seems to be on Next Friday at 7:30! is it moving days or something.

Interesting, although out of the current weekday regulars it's only really Victoria, Jane and Joanna (and Annita) who don't appear at weekends on the News Channel.

Re my previous post-Shaun Ley just confimed the change of day at the very end of today's edition.

Also confirmed he'll be presenting the next edition so guess continuing as normal presenter, won't be the normal presenter of that slot. We're losing a half hour of rolling news for another chance to see this, don't always watch but it's alright but there's enough chances already.
