James Whale is in the studio tonight and sounds much more lively and like his normal self.

With it now being televised, this reminded me of his televised radio show that was simulcast on ITV in the late 80's and early 90's ... with people phoning in either drunk or just plain odd, and getting abruptly cut-off mid-sentence or mid-waffle. One difference was that old show had segments presented from other areas of the radio station, like offices or the reception area, not just in the studio.

Seeing as they’re willing to do that, feels like the 11pm hour should become a radio only one with Daisy doing an extra or James doing a whole 3 hour slot?

Definitely seems a last minute decision as I don’t believe this was on the TV schedule till a few days ago.

They also had Nazaneen Ghaffar do a forecast during the Saturday morning breakfast show which was presumably a Friday afternoon pre-record and then presenter reads throughout the weekend.

The new Sunday evening sports show is able to show clips of EPL matches, crediting Sky Sports.

A shame we don’t see them utilising TalkSport is this Sports show? Could be a simulcast but I guess TS has different sport every weekend so hard to get a consistent show time.

It looks like talkSPORT has some specialist programmes at that time, which might not work as well in the TV slot. They could have used some talkSPORT branding though and called it 'talkSPORT on TalkTV from the TalkRADIO studio'.

It might make more sense for Talk TV to take talkSPORT's Saturday around the grounds football show. I think radio rights usually allow audio reports and commentary to be shown on TV and it would provide the only free to air all afternoon results service in a normal EPG slot on all platforms.

I think they did the right thing on Sunday by splitting the tv and radio feeds. The programming on Sunday afternoon is talkRADIO circa 2016 dull on the radio.

Some great sweeping shots of the studio at the very end of tonight’s Piers Uncensored, as he seemed to wrap things up about 10 seconds too early!

I think it was mentioned here by someone how Piers isn’t the best presenter when it comes to the nuts and bolts of the business, and this was kind of evident. He just sat totally frozen for those 10 seconds looking very awkward.

It's definately a synergy they could be utilising, they have the  sports departments of The Times and The Sun to provide content and resources too.

Maybe that's an idea for the future should Talk TV be a success.. TalkSportTV?

It gets worse and worse for TalkTV and especially TND. It was obviously a Bank Holiday but 3,600 viewers is horrific and (I thought) barely measurable

In its defence I would echo that it's a bank holiday so not going to be a good day for that sort of show.

I expect it will pick up as time goes on - it (The News Desk) is a decent show and should appeal to many who don't like Farage.

Piers's show....I don't yet know what it's trying to be so it's hard to predict where it will go ratings-wise.
