GB News
The GB News sofa used here looks like something the BBC would give away as a prize on Les Dawson's version of Blankety Blank in the 1980s, when Les would describe their prizes as "fire damaged stock"

There was an extra coffee table today. The DFS sale must have been on. Big Grin

That’s one more than Sky News now…
What?

Brekkie was retorting that GB News only has two viewers - if GB News is now beating Sky News at breakfast in certain slots, if that was the case as Brekkie suggests, it would leave Sky with a single viewer.

For the avoidance of any doubt, it was not a serious comment on Sky News’ viewing figures…

It’s literally just a sofa that was probably already in the hotel/whatever they are using, I doubt they’ve brought it in especially. More thought has probably gone into it here than at GB News itself.

I don’t think it looks any worse than the dodgy looking sofa set up that Sky have at Millbank, or the awful one GMB had initially at TVC.

Ah! I had missed the context.
Isn’t it just one of the sofas from the bar at the Hilton? Cloud 23, I think (last time I was there I was very drunk).

Either way, looks awful and ‘fastest growth market’ sounds more akin to The Apprentice rather than a Breakfast news programme.
BARB figures are out after a problem yesterday
What is it about GB News and visual presentation? They just can't, in my opinion, seem to get it right.

I wonder after a week of using a 1980s style sofa and coffee table set-up that they'll go back to the soft area next week instead of the Breakfast Bar which doesn't have many potential shots?

The soft area doesn’t look very good though and certainly not for breakfast.

I think the breakfast bar is about the best part of the studio but looks awkward with any more than two people in shot. I think if it was the height it is now but more shape of ITV News desk it would look better and they could guests on either sides of the hosts.

Usually when they’re on location is when they do get it right though.
Not when in Manchester it’s got to be said
Will certainly be interesting to watch how this is handled on-air, and if they will make it clear that the interviewers are from the same party as the interviewer.

And within a month of an election too. Should not be permitted.

As long as they make it clear I don't see what the issue is, it is not like the main players have not been caught out a few times with similar things and not declared it although normally it is the person they are interviewing who doesn't have any conflicts made aware to the viewer.

It's common for political interviews leader up to an election, if people are aware they are all the same people I am sure they can use their best judgement in what is being asked and the responses. I am not sure what the official rule is I know they can't do it on election day!
