Looking for some info on what to do with ideas, treatments I have for new programmes/formats etc. Quick check of the main broadcasters' sites and they don't accept unsolicited material or that from members of the public. Have also contacted production companies about entry level positions, which I would be doing anyway because I worked towards a degree in TV.
It's looking unlikely I'll get anything so wondering about the ins and outs of just posting ideas online?
Any advice appreciated.

Completely understand that. Although being at a production company surely increases the chance however small? If I don't get work then the ideas aren't going to get seen so a waste really.

There will be a reason why production companies dont accept unsolicited material, and that's usually because if they happen to be working on a format that matches something Joe Public has sent in then there will be a problem. many people and companies have faced litigation in the past because they came up with, or were already working on, an idea that was accidentally similar to one sent in by a member of the public.
Of course on the other hand, unless your format is something decreed as the best thing sliced bread, chances are it'll never get any further, especially if it gets stuck in so-called development hell, and good luck getting it out of that once its in.

The unsolicited thing is fair enough but it seems similar to the fobbing off that writers have to deal with as they are passed around from place to place. Total stupidity but probably not as much as universities offering media degrees that are worthless.
