Yes, it being in capitals would make it stand out more. But, as I've said before, it would be much more effective if the phrase 'breaking news' and the switch to the yellow graphics was used much more sparingly.
Any minor, petty piece of information they receive, or any quote from a politician interview, seems to warrant being labelled as 'breaking news' these days!
If they want to use a mix a graphics to get people's attention, they should do what some other news channels do and make some that say 'happening now' for live events instead of 'breaking news', or use 'just in' for smaller pieces of news coming in, instead of 'breaking news'.
'BREAKING NEWS' would be much more effective if they followed CNN International in just using it for major events, such as bombs or famous person deaths, etc.
The term 'Breaking News' is being misused a lot of the time.

I miss their use of the phrase “Still Ahead” - I think it sounded so much smarter than “Coming Up”. It must be 10 years since they used it.

I knows it’s a rolling news channel, but sometimes I wish they handed over to the next presenter a little. Sometimes an anchor will say “coming up on Sky News” and then suddenly they’ve disappeared and someone else is in the chair! Doesn’t need to be long. Just helps the flow.
Although my biggest gripe, is when they’ll do a coming up sequence and then actually the TOH comes and it’s into a documentary.

And I've not seen a coming-up sequence which implies rolling news then it goes into a documentary during the daytime for ages, are you referring to when this happens overnight? That's because they are replaying the midnight hour until 6am some nights and they wouldn't be able to do multiple coming-up sequences for the right hours very easily.

Where is the nearest correspondent to Plymouth nowadays?
Just thinking in relation to the serious situation in the city right now. And more generally, if a correspondent is miles away, would Sky try and find a freelance or speak to a local radio station to try and get some live updates on air.

It'd be the West of England correspondent Dan Whitehead based in Bristol who's patch includes the whole of the West and South West of England, plus South Wales along with Dorset and Hampshire.
Unfortunate ident fail at 22:00 as it didn't play and stayed on white, then cut to Gillian without the ticker (which then appeared on the second headline).
No Dan Whitehead in Plymouth, but freelance producer Christine Megson on a phono. Mark White at home.
