Some older shows like Come Outside or even Balamory could still be "relevant" today, and today's children may very well find them as interesting as I did when I was younger and watching them on BBC2 analogue (our household did not move to digital until the bitter end, and by then I had moved on to CBBC)

Balamory still airs in Ireland, incidentally, on RTE Jr.

It’s inevitable that the older a show is, it’s less likely to be repeated. Why show Come Outside when they have newer content that could do the same job?

I remember when CBeebies did their 10th anniversary they aired some older programmes e.g. Teletubbies.

Indeed they did, although they were still airing the original Teletubbies at that point so that wasn’t one. From memory, they showed Brum, Big Cook Little Cook and Jackanory Junior. They also showed party and birthday themed episodes of their regular show, for example, Pingu - Pingu’s Birthday, and Me Too - Birthday Socks.

Interesting that one of the shows they aired that day was a certain Boogie Beebies.

Any one think a Saturday night takeaway box set would be a good way to celebrate 20 years?

That would be a very niche release, and unlikely to happen given the amount of compliance needed (members of public, removing competitions, references or appearances of Yewtree’d celebs, etc)

More likely that they’d release a best of the last 20 years, like the best of Ant v Dec or the best of Get Out of Me Ear.
