I think there are a couple of reasons for that. Firstly, there was always going to be more pressure on the BBC to get it right given their status compared to ITV. I believe that regardless of whoever did a better job on the day, the BBC output was always going to get the most attention. The only situation where Lucrezia would have received more praise is if the BBC coverage was abysmal (which was obviously never going to be the case).
The other big reason is the difference between what Lucrezia and Martine before their big moments. Lucrezia would probably have been in the newsroom, gotten changed into appropriate clothing whilst all the prepared pieces were put into place by others, before going into the studio and delivering the news about 6/7 minutes after the announcement. In comparison, Martine was already on air when she was told during a title sequence, she quickly handed to a scheduled report and had to prepare during this two minute report. She started announcing the next just 3/4 minutes after it broke with international viewers joining her about 2 minutes later. Whilst all this is going on, she's having to slightly change her clothing and receive instructions on how the news will be broken on other BBC channels.
There is no denying that Lucrezia deserves more praise, but given her circumstances compared to Martine's, it's understandable why she wasn't front and centre in terms of praise on that day.
