It would be a mistake though to think Final Score (or even MOTD for that matter) is filled with football just as it's a mistake to think Strictly is none stop dancing. Much of television nowdays is about making a full programme out of just a few minutes of action.

I was watching Sportscene on BBC One Scotland, which ended at about 17:15:30 or so. I suspect that similar may have been true for Final Score, dependant on how many trailers Network was planning to show before the news.
The evening news bulletin started at about 17:17. If they're planning to pad-out the junction between the regional news and Superman & Lois with trailers, then the de-facto length of the combined network & regional news may in fact be exactly the same as it would've been under the original schedule (or, at least, not as much as a full 5 minutes longer, as the billed timings would have it).

Thanks to AJ's injury this is the first year in a decade or so that we will actually know the places of all the top 4.

They've still managed to overrun even after removing 15 minutes
