BT TV New Set Top Box

If you order BT TV now, is this the box you get?

I'm going through the process for my parents now - but there doesn't seem to be any add on available for a PVR service, yet it does offer miniconnectors which shouldn't be needed if the new box has Wifi, surely?

AIUI while the box has wifi it isn't yet ready for prime time, so it's still cables (or powerline adapters) for now.

Ah, that's annoying! So is it the Sagem PVR box which new customers get as their 1st box? (Still appears additional boxes are the non-PVR ones.)

Speculating but it would appear that this is the case - the new "TV Box Pro" is the standard and it is made clear that any additional boxes are the non PVR type - https://www.bt.com/bt-tv-box - though some places mention its for the VIP package only so *shrug*

Now that BT operate on a rental model I guess there's less of a reason to bother keeping the non-4K PVR boxes around.

Another thing to consider is that the BT wifi discs can work as an ethernet bridge, so if your parents have these then it may be more useful than powerline adapters
