He didn't want a basic package or any other channel at all. He only wanted Film Four and that's it. Heaven knows what he makes of the current incarnation.

Struggling to find anything. I think the used the square logo with EXTRA under it at the time to promote it.

Was the FilmFour coverage ad free as well?

The only thing I remember from that era is getting cold calls begging me to subscribe. I remember having quite an interesting discussion with the agent - as at the time, most of the films were weird art or foreign language films I wouldn’t even watch for free, let alone for 6.99 a month!

I have a vague memory of the square logo as you say. I don’t think there was any accompanying pres, I think they crashed straight in. I also seem to remember they would simulcast some of the cricket that was on the main channel but without the ad breaks, where commentators would continue talking. Not sure how often that was though.
