Sian Williams to leave 5 News

I just hope that when Sian leaves the Director decides to do away with the ridiculous angle during the opening sequence.

That and all the other gimmicky elements which has made 5 News a much harder watch since the relaunch.

Especially with Emma Barnett and Emily Maitlis leaving

Although Victoria is excellent and would be a good fit for 5 News I don't think she's a better choice than Claudia.

I agree that CL is excellent but C5 generally seems obsessed with using talent from other channels (usually the BBC)- Nick Knowles, Gregg Wallace

I was going to make a joke about them replacing the current bulletin with "Gregg Wallace: Inside the Newsroom", but then of course that is pretty much the angle 5 News actually took with Kirsty Young when it launched, so perhaps not such a bad idea after all.

I don’t often catch 5 News now they’ve ditched the 6.30 newscast, but from what they post on socials I’ve seen a lot of Julian Druker anchoring in recent weeks. He seems like an obvious replacement to me, and I wonder whether he’s being trialled as Sian’s replacement, although time shall tell. He strikes me as a suitable anchor, although as we’ve seen with 5 News in the past, they do like to go for an outside candidate.
