New Drama idents - Robert Williams - 28-04-2022

Just noticed today that the Drama channel has introduced new idents.  Nothing too exciting, but quite nicely filmed with slow motion effects - a step up from the previous set, I think, which had been in place since the channel launched in 2013.  There appears to be only four of them, however, which I would describe as two dark and two light.  I've only seen the two light idents used in the last five junctions - no doubt the darker idents are intended for harder-hitting shows later in the evening.

The idents can be seen at this link:

According to that page, they launched on 23rd April.

I like those!

And they are very appropriate for the channel.

I like those very much, and I see in 3 of them they have used the same tactic as BBC One of incorporatiing the logo into the action with elements passing infront/behind it.

They were initially drip fed into the rotation, some old idents will make an appearance for now.

Are they using the war one now or holding that back for obvious reasons. Considering C4 had a warning about a 56 year old man re-enacting a war scene with traffic cones on Taskmaster last night I don't think a war based ident would be considered suitable by UKTV at the moment.

Restricted (for obvious reasons)

Is it stock footage again like W?

They were full blown shoots...with casting and location scouting
