Also worth noting the titles played in full but only with the short theme used for special reports.

No autocue. I wonder if this is coming from a back-up CSO somewhere at ITN HQ?

*Appears* To be back to normal now, although no guarantees.
EDIT: Still no autocue.

There's a separate thread here; IDK if we're sticking to this one or going there.

In any case, going by Twitter, it seems that when ITV News London crashed(?), viewers were treated to Meridian instead.

Appears the sound failed about 10-15 mins in, before the switch. TVZone's tweet just before half past made it seem like it would be more of an uphill battle to get things working again in time for the national.

No, this was from their regular Studio 1, and they had a decent end to the bulletin, with a nice closing shot, pulling out and revealing the studio

"Chris" will be doing News at Ten, Lucrezia said; presumably Chris Ship. Would this be his NaT debut?

RE: ITV News: March 2022 onwards - JK1985 - 19-07-2022

ITV News need to have an extra studio at ITN. At present there are only three studios - Studio 1 for ITV National News and ITV News London. Studio 2 for Channel 5 News and Jeremy Vine. Studio 6 overlooking the atrium for Channel 4 News.

There used to be more studios at ITN, I believe Studios 3, 4 and 5 were all based within the newsroom, but have all gone now, converted back into office space.

Maybe it is time for another regular size studio. Possibly used for ITV News London, and can also be used as a back up.

It would definitely make sense to have back up studios in the ITN building even if just small green screen ones that could be easily switched on for the various broadcasters.

As I said in the other thread, the issue is usually with the control room and they do have a spare one of those for ITV to use - PCR2. PCR1 is the main one.

Thought it was; watched it this morning and thought he was very good (although I've always liked him as a newscaster).

We've now had a weather OB from not London & the South East.

Jo Blyth was at a flower show in Manchester, although I think she's one of Granada's anyway?

Only saw this for the first time last night and it is seamless (although some viewers might wonder how the ITV News presenter can promote something happening in their region/nation).

There was a report from Cardiff yesterday about a schoolgirl being able to remember every county’s capital city and currency, which wouldn’t have been shown in Wales which is a shame. It may have gone out on Wales at Six though.

Do they change the headline sequence because I'm pretty sure that girl got a bong (if you'll pardon the expression)?

They've also launched an 'Ask ITV News' segment, which is basically just one of the online Q&A sessions with a reporter on a particular subject that they used to do, but incorporated into the actual bulletin. Not sure if it's every night, every week, every month or just whenever they feel like it.
