I must say it's a shame that Radio 3 and 4's logos are being "genericised" to fit in with the other stations – the bass clef and quotation mark gives the uninformed listener a far better idea of what the stations are about than a bland Reith Sans numeral.

At least CBeebies and CBBC are not going Reithed. Parents, kids, and teenagers will go mad if they change both logos to Reith Sans (or its variants) like all BBC Radio and Television channels does in the name of unified branding.

The bass clef and quotation marks were, in my book, quite alright. But as more of a uniform-brand guy, I kinda like how the BBC is going the Radio France look to unification.

The name seemed too long anyways so shortening it to “BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra” could do.
