Basic Forum Rules

Last Update: 17th April 2022

The following are the rules and regulations of TV Live Forum. By posting on the forum, you agree to the following terms and conditions

Users are only allowed one account. If you are banned from the forum, you are not permitted to create another account. Users found to have multiple accounts will have all of their accounts banned. Accounts registered through temporary email address providers (like 10 Minute Mail) are not allowed.

If you find a post that doesn't fit in with forum policy, please use the "Report Post" facility. Moderators will take action as quickly as they can to ensure that the matter is resolved. Some incidents will be dealt with behind the scenes, so do not be worried if you do not receive a response to your report. If you have an issue with a moderation decision, please contact us.

You are to respect other members of the community and not belittle, make fun of, or insult any other member.

Personal attacks, aggressive messages, and passive-aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If a member posts an opinion that you disagree with, you must be courteous in your response. If you feel another user is attacking or being aggressive towards you, report their message to staff using the Report function, and do not respond publicly.

For the benefit of all users please try to make all of your posts as logical and readable as possible. Text speak such as "lol" and "jk" is discouraged.

Where possible, please use the Metropol File Upload Service to upload images and videos for submitting to the forum. This service is not run by TV Live Forum, and use of this service is subject to their terms and conditions.

Please don't try to reply to every single active thread on these forums unless you have something useful to add to the conversation.

If your post is regarding a significant development, start a new topic. This will ensure that the discussion is seperate from any existing discussion.

When sharing videos and images from other presentation websites, please credit the site that the video or image came from, with a link to their website where possible.

Please do not post anything which would be considered inappropriate in a business or office setting, ie. NSFW (Not Suitable For Work).

Anything which perpetuates negative stereotypes or prejudices about people based on who they are, where they are from, or what they believe, is inappropriate. Please take your conspiracy theories elsewhere.

You are not permitted to post material which may be libellous or defamatory in nature or damaging to the reputation of a third party based on unfounded or unproven allegations or assertions about them or their activities. Posts and topics referring to ongoing legal action will be removed without warning.

The discussion of political issues is not allowed on the forum, unless it has something to do with television presentation; for example, coverage of general elections. You are to keep your thoughts on politicians and political parties to yourself.

The discussion of radio programming is not allowed on the forum. You may discuss graphics used by radio stations to promote their programming on television, as well as those stations who stream their programmes on YouTube (for example Talk Radio & LBC), but for everything else, please use the Birdsong forum at Metropol.

You are not to discuss the personal lives of any presenters or share personal or private information about a presenter unless they openly discuss it in the press or on-air. This includes sharing information from Twitter or Facebook accounts that are private.

Rota Discussion

Rota and schedule discussion is not allowed on the forum, unless there is a significant development due to a breaking news event. You are allowed to discuss abnormal scheduling (for example, if Susanna Reid were to present News at Ten).

The Gallery

If you wish to post your own work in The Gallery, please start a new thread. Do not hijack other people's threads with your own work.

If you are given criticism about your work, please take it on board. Don't claim that you'll listen to other people's ideas and comments if you'll just ignore them, and then pretend they gave you rave reviews and continue to produce monstrosities - others may spot flaws you don't. And who knows, if you do all that, they might even praise you!

Do not post comments on designs that are rude or insulting. If you think a design is bad, explain your reasons, and give suggestions on how they can be improved.

Requests

Do not reply to someone else's thread with your own request. Please start a new thread.

Posts saying "I have this, I'll trade X with you" are not welcome. Either post the content you have (providing it's within forum rules) or don't post at all.

Industry professionals visit the forum, and we do not want to appear to be unfair to music collectors and graphic designers - therefore PLEASE keep requests for library music and fonts to your own private email - please do not discuss file-swapping on the forum or in private messages.

Your request is more likely to be responded to if you are polite. Using the words "please" and "thank you" will help you achieve your goal faster. Don't be demanding.

Warnings

Moderators have the right to ban users for any serious breaches of the rules without having to give forum warnings.

The forum runs a warning system based on a points system. Warnings are given to users for breaches of forum policy. Warnings expire after 30 days, and will NOT be revoked unless in exceptional circumstances, to be determined by the moderation team.

Warning Points System

1 point: Forum warning
2 points: 12 hour loss of posting privileges
3 points: 24 hour ban from the forum
4 points: 1 month ban from the forum
5 points: permanent ban from the forum
