Presumably Marr is off to LBC?

I'd speculate that because his salary isn't going to be published, he's joined Eddie Mair over at LBC who has also made a successful transition from the BBC to the commercial sector.

I wonder if Laura Kuenssberg will end up replacing him on Sunday Mornings alongside or rather than going to Today as the press said the other week was looking likely. Jon Sopel also soon to be free so he is another contender.

Sopel would be my preferred choice, but Kuennsberg is higher profile.

Agree - those 2 names were who I thought of first to replace him. Although part of me wonders if Andrew Neil may turn up in this slot instead?

Nick Robinson is the regular stand-in, though I would expect the unexpected for this slot.

This is unlikely but I get where you’re coming from - I reckon Tim Davie would be up for it, but whether BBC staff and Andrew himself would be is a different question.

I think Andrew probably would be up for it? He's done a lot of interviews of the last 2 months bashing GB News & calling it a bad decision etc. Almost feels like he's setting himself up ready for a redemption job.

I think the BBC would be keen to put someone in with a view to some longevity. Breakfast with Frost lasted for 12 years, the Andrew Marr Show, 16 years. Can't see Neil offering that...

I am not sure he would be willing to give up so many weekends again to be in the UK rather than France.I think after he left Sunday Politics he used to have many weekend trips there.

So that's Sunday Morning up for grabs again after December 19th (which i'm guessing will be the final Marr programme).

Marr has been doing projects for other broadcasters recently, he did a series about paintings for Channel 5 so a show on LBC and Classic FM, the latter in particular suits him.

I think it's between Nick Robinson and Laura Kuenssberg for the Marr slot. With the latter stepping down as Political Editor, it would make perfect sense rather than moving to Today.

That would be my guess, and probably as part of a "revitalised" / reformatted Sunday morning show looking to skew younger than Andrew Marr's version. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a schedule change to support that aim. And, if this came to pass, I would be even less surprised to see the traditional BBC Sunday morning political programme re-invented a few years thereafter.
