Not a regular MTV viewer, but looking at it this morning, it does appear to have a new look, or at least a different and nicer on the eye look than it had previously. The actual music channels all appear to not have changed though... yet?
MTV Germany appear to have launched a new look this morning too, the DOG is more into the corner. The song titles are very minimal and the artist name appears for a very short amount of time before the song title appears for a longer length of time. I am not a fan of this kind of graphics, I think it would be much better if they displayed the artist name and song title together. They are similar to their old titles only they are now light red/pink rather than yellow.
It does look like a very slick package, the problem with the old look was that it was very yellow and garish to look at, it looks a bit more restrained and 'tolerable' now.

Also each channel now has a new brand colour.
MTV Music - yellow (MTV Base in Africa uses that colour as well)
MTV Hits - lavender
MTV Base - green
MTV Classic - gold
MTV Live (not in UK) - red
Club MTV (not in UK) - blue

MTV Live is in the UK, on Virgin at least, it's on channel 311.
On the Virgin EPG, all of the MTV channels have the new logos, but most of them are still using the old look on screen. The main MTV channel and MTV Live seems to be the only ones actually with the new look.

Yes I was just about to mention that as I’ve just noticed it myself

I did just spot MTV Base using one of the new idents- but they still have the old on-screen graphics. Possible that MTV Music, Hits and Classic are the same.
I admit I still love the 1999-2000 graphics best, even if they were massive. Oasis even made light of them in the video for Go Let It Out.

There's an MTV 90's channel and it uses the old logo and large strap for the song titles (which are more associated with the 80's I'd have said) and it is nice to see the old, larger logo again.

Is this on Sky? Because we don't have that channel on Virgin.

James2001 none of the decade channels are in the UK, they are the European channels.
VH1 Classic was replaced with MTV 80s (branding used previously here as a pop-up rebrand for MTV Classic)

MTV Rocks was replaced with MTV 90s (we did have a pop-up version in 2016, but doesn't use the exact same graphics used then)

Looks like the new graphics have now appeared on Music, Classic and Base (funnily enough changing mid-programme), old graphics still on Hits though.

A hope with the new 'unified, global brand' comes the ability to watch the VMA's live as they happen so we're not subjected to the absolutely terrible edits they make to the 3 hour 'highlights' we get in the UK.
I do like the new branding though!

I guess it depends, that old MTV strap was used throughout the 90s depending on where you lived. I know it was still in use on MTV Europe when the UK version was spun off in 1997, and presumably for a while after that. I did see it pop up on a Westlife video back in 1999, so it was clearly still in use somewhere that late (I seem to remember MTV Italy were the last to use it and get a system which would overlay the captions live, but I could be misremembering).
Still pops up occasionally on older videos presumably when they accidently play out the wrong version.
Strangely it also appeared on Wham's I'm Your Man whenever The Vault showed it in the mid-00s... they must have got their copy from MTV! I've seen the old Music Box graphics pop up on Vintage TV when that was around as well.
Edit, found this page: http://www.alexmusic.net/tele/musicsat/m.../index.htm
Says MTV Europe were still using that caption style until 1998, but MTV Italy held on until 2000- that would explain why I saw it in 1999, presumably they played out a captioned version meant for MTV Italy by mistake.
