I guess it may depend on whether all the protestors are in the reception or whether there's more outside the building, as well as what staff were already on site before the protestors turned up.
The same anti-vax crowd in Ireland have done this stuff to RTÉ at Montrose a few times but they were very close to getting inside the building at one point. The Gardaí stop them in their tracks.
If any of these miserable losers who are storming the building of ITN HQ today are all unemployed at the current time; they would have needed to get up off their arses & get a job to pay their way in society & leave the conspiracy theorists anti-vax rhetoric alone. But instead; by taking part in these protests; they have effectively lost their chance of gaining meaningful employment for themselves in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if any of them got arrested & get sent to prison for a very long time. The police officers should throw away the key.

I think people should have the right to protest lawfully, no matter how controversial the subject matter (obviously when there's violence/criminal damage involved, then it's a different matter).
I don't agree with your sentiments as once we start locking people up for protesting then we are no better than North Korea or China, IMO. I mean, are you telling me that you've never taken part in a protest in your life?

They'll have some contingency planning and other options available to them. However a lot of those options will probably depend on staff from inside the building being able to get out, which they weren't for a while.
Looks like the protestors have moved on. I bet ITN are glad they didn't have the intelligence to invade the building when they were actually on air

Both of you. By all means, discuss what's happening with regards to the protest, but keep the politics out of it. Nobody is interested in that.

This is an anti-media protest, a confused combination of conspiracy led gripes. It's not going to end well
I think it's a mix of both;
It's not 'both' it'll be a combination of many 'issues'. These sort of protests are a group of angry people getting together to be angry at something. They're rarelyy focused
But would they attend a protest protesting about protests?
I've always found it odd that when reporting war the press label themselves as "PRESS" as some kind of immunity from the enemy - it's obviously deemed to be an action which protects them rather than flags them as a potential high profile target. What is sad now is increasingly on the streets of their own country - and in this case in their own offices - journalists in the Western World are now seemingly increasingly at risk from a sub-section of society purely for doing their job. As you say these people are rarely focused and one minute they're protesting that they're not reporting on government sleeze and the next they're protesting they're anti-government.
The sad thing is that certain sections of the mainly non-broadcast media are quite willing to put their colleagues in broadcast, and especially at the BBC, at risk, by whipping up anti-mainstream media hatred.
I actually forgot to mention that RTÉ News from Ireland has their London office based in Grays Inn Road. Are all of those RTÉ staff members officially safe inside the building or are they in their homes around London? The RTÉ London Correspondent based there is Séan Whelan who took over from Fiona Mitchell some years ago. He may be compiling a news report or some clips about it while on the Six-One & 9 O'Clock News later on this evening & tonight.
Appears that they're moving on from Google "to the next place" - which according to one of the leaders apparently closes at 17:00 so I've no idea where that would be... The Guardian and Facebook offices are nearby.
