This channel was relaying weather forecasts during the week it before it had switched over to the coloured bars up on screen. Has anyone seen these weather forecasts yet.

I've noticed the colour bars, but not the weather forecasts. Any ideas which channel it's going to be?

Where have you found this ? And did you see anything besides from weather ?

It's up on the digital spy forums. The thread is called 28.2/28.5 East & Non-Freesat mode changelog 2021.

I have not seen the weather forecasts on this at all.

I also have no idea what news channel is going up there. If I take a complete guess it might be a completely new channel coming into to the British market maybe I24 News or DW English. But to be honest I have no idea on what's it' s going to be at the moment.

It was being discussed on the Sky Help Forum about the possibility this could be a “Sky News Weather” channel, the “TV Channels List” suggested that it was an upcoming channel.

I did tune it in a week or two ago, but I also have only seen colour bars any time I’ve gone on it. [mention]bkmam1990[/mention] have the forecasts you’ve seen been Sky News style?

Yes, the Weather Channel was around from 1996-98. Had local forecasts on cable too.

Yes, the Weather Channel was around from 1996-98. Had local forecasts on cable too.

How long did it broadcast for ? Cos that’s would probably be very empty ( I had Sky at the time but never watched these kinds of Chanel )

The Weather Channel had people like Louise Lear and Carol Kirkwood on it. There was also the Weather Network so you had a choice of weather on Videotron cable (or was it ntl by then?) at least in SE London

Considering the British obsession with the weather, it's almost suprising we don't have a weather channel.

I think Victoria Graham was also another forecaster as well. I remember it being part time on Sky.

I guess the obvious issue with a weather channel is that for most people a 5 minute forecast gives you everything you need to know.

Hang on a minute. If you're saying that it's a Sky News Weather channel. How can that be possible?

To me that's basically sounds like a weather forecast feed of Sky News International without the ad breaks that you see on Youtube. That likely wording could indicate to us that Sky News HD will be going free on FTA Satellite/Freesat very soon. That could also mean that an announcement would be imminent from Sky at given day at this point.

I'm only just speculating here with that point on Sky News HD going free on Freesat btw. I did not see any weather forecasts on it either before the colour bars came up on the screen. This channel testing right now, according to people posting on the DS Forums, is being lumped in with the pub feeds of BT Sport Extra 1 to 5 on the same transponder.

I was unaware that the Weather Channel UK basically licensed the Weather Channel logo and title from original Weather Channel based in Atlanta. According to TVARK it was produced basically by an arm of the MetOffice. Amazing that they were incapable of keeping it afloat geez. Probably had boring, dry production and writing. Oh well. Would have been interesting had channel originated from Atlanta HQ with UK presenters. Probably would have had more resources available.
