Louise Minchin has just announced she is leaving the programme after the summer.

Gutted. you can't beat Lou & Dan. I wonder if she'll present the one o clock news like she did in the past as a relief presenter?

Truly shocked. Can’t believe she just dropped that news. Will be sorely missed by me that’s for sure.
Can’t say I’m surprised. There’s more to life. She doesn’t seem to have been her usual self in recent months. I personally can’t see her staying with the BBC although I hope she does. She’s excellent at her job. I can see her working with charities and doing more with triathlons/cycling stuff.
Here's the full announcement, from Breakfast themselves:

So sad to hear this news but after 20 years of early start, who can blame her?!
I just hope this doesn’t mean more airtime for Naga;
I find her far too sarcastic and not the friendly face/voice I want at that time of the morning.
She's probably joining Good Morning Britain in September.

There is the rumour that GMB is seeking to have the first female co host to Susanna Reid, so if they were able to bag Louise Minchin then fair play to them. But we will still have to see if viewing figures will rise
My bet on a replacement for Louise would be Ranvir Singh. She has a very good working relationship with the current BBC Breakfast editor Richard Frediani from his time at ITV News at 6:30 and is undeniably experienced in the timeslot. A homecoming (remember BBC NWT) and a chance to ensure a qualified, likeable personality who happens to be BAME has a leading role on the most popular breakfast show in the country. One to watch.
Also the tabloids now say that none other than Piers Morgan himself could replace Louise Minchin on BBC Breakfast, other names in the running are Eamonn Holmes and Kay Burley https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-ne...e-20764680
Frankly I don't believe that anyone of them will replace her, I just can't see Piers Morgan on BBC Breakfast, also his outspokeness could bring him more trouble at the Beeb....... On the names suggested there, I think that Sally Nugent could be the most realistic replacement

What nonsense. Beige will be replaced with beige. They have no need or reason to go for a Piers or a Kay.
It will be one of these three, most likely:

- Sally Nugent
- Rachel Burden
- Nina Warhurst

I completely agree on this one

I don't think Burley would've come back on air at all on Sky if she was about to defect.

Can’t believe that people on this site would see such ‘articles’ as anything other than nonsense made up to score advertising revenue – and if you don’t believe it, why are you posting it?
