On the radio. Of all the priorities, this radio company was more bothered about how their talent looked than how they sounded.

Even on the weekend when you would enter and leave the building without seeing a soul this very bizarre rule applied.

I once turned up to remote voice track for another site after business hours, days before I had a home setup.
Shortly after an all-staff email went out about dress code.

There's a dress code at my office, and we're not turning up for any form of broadcasting.

It certainly looks like one of those pictures from a Health and Safety test, where you have to spot six hazards!

OK, so fine, I didn’t spot any of the cardinal sins of drinks on desks etc (I wasn’t looking for that!) I was merely looking at the desk. Insufferable geek that I am.

There's a video somewhere of some guy in the 1980s presenting a bulletin on 7 Brisbane in what looked like an extremely hot studio with the top 4 or so buttons of his shirt completely undone, revealing an incredibly hairy chest.

I cannot find the clip for the life of me, which is a shame as it's a perfect little interlude to what has been a spicy thread at times. If you can find it, points to you.

That's Sackur's trademark, he never wears a tie on BBC World News. It would be a different story if they put in on the News Channel.
