Oh my goodness well Amy Garcia was broadcasting as normal from Wakefield then towards the end burst into tears :-(
This is very sad he only retired from Look North two years ago.

So sad to hear this. For many of us he was ´Mr Yorkshire’. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago, and he seemed like a lovely man.

No!, I’ve just saw it announced on Twitter by BBC Yorkshire. Very shocked and saddened.

Devastating news. Harry was such a lovely man.
RIP Harry.

Oh goodness, poor Amy. Can’t imagine having to unexpectedly announce this news…

A true gent, and warmly regarded at the BBC by many personal accounts.
Sad to hear this tonight.

I think it's very clear from that clip that poor Amy likely didn't find out the news until during the weather

The late Look North will be difficult tonight. I’ll remember Harry for his signature “ that’s as far as we go”.
RIP

Personally I thought Harry was Look North. He gave the bulletin character and a sense of community which set it apart from Calendar which itself has had some strong line-ups over the years.
I thought Amy handled it the best she could for the sign-off and reminds viewers that even newscasters are human.

Yeah if you known someone for so long and was her mentor you would be upset as well, there’s no way to hide it. Very sad news though our Mr Yorkshire’s have gone, the other being Richard Whiteley.

So tough when the news breaks whilst on air rather than be able to process the news beforehand.
Was he at South Today for some time then - I always associated him with the North and mainly the Super League Show which took him beyond Look North.
