Presumably now ITV have announced their new set of weekend programmes these won't continue much longer, though of course we hope they don't need too. I still think ITV would be better off doing a Sunday edition of GMB (say 8am-10am) year round rather than the pre-recorded shows through spring and summer, though of course there is a reason they prefer that strategy.

Not showing yet on schedule for next Saturday on SKY EPG still.

What is this new set of weekend programmes; I have not heard about this?

Thank you. I thought the ITV News Specials have been very good. Ranvir will be presenting tomorrow.

There’s no regional news both today & tomorrow due to the sports schedule. I wonder if they’ll upload them online

Bad enough when they drop them one day but on both is unacceptable - they only need 5 minutes to squeeze them in after all. If they've time to schedule a 45 minute Evening News they can schedule a regional bulletin too.

Yes - odd schedule tomorrow with the Evening News ending at 9pm.. only for News At Ten to be back in an hour later!

I guess a 15 minute edition didn’t feel long enough and then going for half an hour would leave an awkward 15 minute gap.

It seems it's there really in the event of FA Cup extra time. An easy programme to shorten if the football runs over.

Can't understand why it's not scheduled for before the match. Probably have to be 30 minute filler afterwards but a repeat of the Bradley Walsh docs or something would fit well enough, with the cup coverage reaction filling the rest. Presumably there is the semi-final draw too, not that it takes more than a minute at this stage.

I'm sure people who really watch regional news at the weekend will find the BBC bulletins on iPlayer or on BBC One.

That's not the point though. It's like closing all channels down and saying "I'm sure those who really want to watch television will find BBC1". Broadcasting close to big live events can get more eyeballs on the bulletins than normal too, and surely with ITV now doubling the national news to an hour and adjusting primetime accordingly it is in their interest to strenthen the image of their regional news too so their ratings at 6pm are as strong as possible too.

It's a bulletin especially on a Saturday with very little content. Gone are the days when people would watch the bulletin for the football results with added local emphasis. The fact is sport will bring in more numbers than a tick box regional bulletin on Saturday afternoons.

As long as one PSB is providing some form of a regional news bulletin, I don't see what the issue is.

I think it's a slippery slope - regional news should be a seven-day operation. The odd missed day at Christmas is one thing, but it should not be possible to drop it outside of holiday periods

I agree, especially as there was a 45 minute build up to the England game last night, surely that could have been trimmed by 5 minutes.

Excellent coverage this morning with Ranvir presenting and including Bill with his knowledge. It worked very well.

Again nothing showing for next weekend in schedules either for extended ITV News or the New Programmes.
