Just on the off chance someone has this bookmarked and it hasn't been removed...
There was once a video on YouTube of a pre-roll card (or whatever they call it) before an episode of Star Trek somethingorother in the 90s, presumably from a satellite feed that was being recorded by a local station. It included a message that the start of the episode included some video distortion that was an intentional video effect, and shouldn't be mistaken for signal interference. I've been trying to track it down for ages but had no luck since.
Don't suppose anyone knows where this can still be found, if at all?

That's not the one, but it's an interesting find nevertheless! The clip I'm looking for wasn't meant for broadcast, it was recorded off a satellite feed by what I'm presuming was a local affiliate in the USA. It was a pre-roll slate with all the usual technical details but with an extra disclaimer telling the recipient not to mistake the special effects for actual picture interference.

I can't think of a Star Trek episode that might apply to. Could it have been something that was a bit adventurous with the medium on occasion, like X-Files? They had that "X-Cops" episode which was shot on video.

I'm not a Trekkie at all so I wouldn't be able to tell you, I'm afraid. Thinking about it, I might've heinously confused it with Stargate.
I can roughly remember the scene in question was a POV shot with several characters all looking at whatever or whoever's view we were looking through.

That might fit with the view from a MALP - one of the robot probes they used to send through the Stargate to check things out before sending the team through.
But here's a thought... could it possibly have been the title sequence for the 1995 reboot of The Outer Limits? It actually starts with the voiceover "There is nothing wrong with your television set" over faux interference.

Nope, it was definitely something for whoever was recording the satellite feed for their channel and not for broadcast, but I appreciate your help nevertheless!
I think it might've simply vanished as a result of someone's account being closed.
