I wonder if Channel 5 will dust off one of the Golden Girls episodes they were repeating earlier in the year.
Interesting she was the last survivor of the main cast of that show- by quite a long way- despite being the oldest.

Next month's People magazine devotes the front cover to it.Was randomly wondering earlier actually when they were previewing 2022 on the radio whether we'd still get the extra Bank Holiday if it turned out there wouldn't be a Platinum Jubilee.
I think this is why though even given her age this one is a bit of a shock. She still had such a presence in US TV especially, despite it being 30 odd years since the Golden Girls, and was probably known to many simply as the legendary Betty White than for anything in particular. A sad reminder that sometimes age just catches up with you.

Such sad news, her 100th birthday was coming up so that makes it stunning even though she was 99. She had such long history before television and being there when TV started. I'm younger than Golden Girls, but it's always fun to watch the series and she was a fun part of the show. I also liked her game show appearances. Such nice long life lived, R.I.P Betty White.
