TV Predictions 2022 - CCFG - 05-12-2021
2021 is coming to a close, so I wanted to continue this TVF tradition.
My predictions:
BBC One gets new idents
CBBC and CBeebies get new presentation (or at least update their logos to feature the new BBC logo)
Channel 4 gets new idents, again only having 4 of them.

I noticed a lot of people seemed to think that BBC One would get new idents. Didn't happen, but I think it's quite likely in 2022. At least we have the wonderful Christmas idents (for now).

I didn't do too bad last year though I did play it safe in hindsight.

- Jon Snow retires, and C4 News revamped as a truly double headed affair
- C5/Viacom streamline their channels, push into the streaming market (think a Paramount branded service is being rolled out, although IMO using All Access makes more sense as it can be adjusted locally - i.e. 5 All Access)
- Sky News revamps it's schedule and TOTH graphics.
Avoiding predicting what we know to be the case (so new BBC1 idents, new look BBC News etc.) I'll say:
- ITV News to get a new look
- New idents for C4 ahead of their 40th
- C4 to launch "4 Decades" channel effectively replacing 4Music for archive C4 programming
- C5 to poach or revive another series established elsewhere.
- BBC News to have 1999 style rejig of network bulletin presenters. Huw remains at 10pm, Clive Myrie deputises, Mishal Husain takes over the Six.
- ITV to update ITV2/3/4 branding. Retain ITV Creates idents for main channel.
- Waterloo Road to be axed
- Strictly will mark it's 20th series and 100 years of the BBC with an All Stars series, running Sept-Nov due to the World Cup with the final in Blackpool
- Similarly think I'm a Celeb might return to the "jungle" with an All Star series itself to mark 20 years of the show. At the very least they'll be a twist to put Jordan North in the jungle environment.

- Good Morning Britain to have some kind of major refresh.
- Dancing on Ice casts Arlene Philips as new judge replacing John Barrowman
- ITV and Channel 4 to retire some of their additional channels.

A few predictions of mine:
- Sky will close at least one of their channels, whether that be Sky History 2 or Sky Cinema Hits for example.
- ViacomCBS will launch either another MTV channel or bring nickmusic to the UK.
- UKTV channels will have a rebrand.
TV Predictions 2022 - This is UTV - 05-12-2021
My predictions are:
- Weakest Link will be axed after 12 new eps.
- Phil & Holly announce they are 'moving on' from This Morning. (Note: just the 'announcement' is made, their leave date will be from 2023)
- 5 News admit the full hour is not working, and the 5Phone nonsense is axed.
- 4Music rebrands, becomes FTA on satellite and joins Freesat
- Paramount Network rebrands under the '5' name
- UTV branding returns ( in some form), ITV Creates is ditched
- Julian Simmons/Gillian Porter return to regular continuity duties (but not necessarily on UTV)
- 'First Look' eps of Eastenders on the New BBC Three channel, before BBC ONE
I suspect this time next year I will be claiming 8 out of 8 for the above! ?

- Sky unveils a new Sky streaming device for customers who can't afford a new TV. NOW potentially rebranded under the "Sky" umbrella.
- C4 ends up bought by Discovery, despite many campaigners preventing such a purchase.
- BBC Three replaces 60 Seconds with a TV edition of Newsbeat.
- BBC News reveals a radical new look, replacing the globe used since 2008.
- BT Sport undergoes a name change, based on it's new owners.
- Channel 4 renames 4Music to better suit the channel's reshift to entertainment. An "Adult Swim" channel is proposed, but never launched and/or materialised.

Right, my predictions are:
ITV News to get a rebrand
The United Kingdom will pull out of the Eurovision after 2022 after another bad result to make their own song contest for England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland
BBC and ITV will require shared rights to Family Guy. BBC get American Dad and ITV will get The Cleveland Show.
ITV2 will get the rights to show The Kelly Clarkson Show after Ellen ends her show next summer.
Channel 5 will go though another rebrand.
