BBC Programming Thread - RhysJR - 22-08-2021

As ITV has a thread like this, I thought it would make sense if there was a sister thread for similar discussion of BBC programmes.

From some trailers that are starting to air, the return of a few staples of the BBC One line-ups are imminent. As mentioned here, a new look Question of Sport will begin on Friday September 3rd.

Also with a new trailer is Silent Witness, billed as 'Coming Soon'. Moved to autumn due to COVID delays, for as long as I can recall, Silent Witness has always been shown after Christmas in January. I guess this hasn't neccesarily always been the case, but when is the latest in the year it has aired I wonder and when was the last time it was not shown in the first quarter of the year?

A new trailer recently dropped is for new natural history series Serengeti II:

I notice that a documentary about Only Fools and Horses from 2002 is being repeated on Saturday 4th September at 8pm, followed by a classic repeat.

It's Only Fools' 40th birthday.
The first episode was shown on September 8th, 1981.

If, like me, you were wondering why the edition of River Walks currently on BBC Two is in SD despite being made in 2018, it was a regional programme originally broadcast in the East Midlands only.
