ITV Hub - London Lite - 28-06-2021 A combination of Euro 2020 live football and Love Island on at 9pm is causing issues with ITV Hub, it's buffering constantly on ITV and with Love Island coming up, once again ITV Hub can't handle the traffic. ITV Hub - James2001 - 28-06-2021 I was trying to watch Emmerdale and Corrie through Virgin Media and it won't let me select any of the episodes- I assume this is related. I've got it working through Roku, but only at 25p, and it's not running any adverts or sponsorship bumpers, again I'm assuming this is due to the same issues. ITV Hub - Meridian MR - 28-06-2021 ITV Hub and ITV Player trending on Twitter. ITV Hub - London Lite - 28-06-2021 Someone suggested on Twitter to "register and use the ITV Scotland hub" instead. The Satellite signal does not weaken the more sky boxes switched on at the same time?? The demo for Love Island is more likely to want to watch on an app than on linear tv which is far from the portability that audience crave. I'm sure some figured out that ITV2 is on LCN 6 on Freeview and watched in glorious SD, but ITV have to get their act together with the Hub. Everyone here seems to make out that watching an SD Freeview channel is like watching a RealPlayer video from 1998. It's fine even on larger TVs with the correct picture settings IMO (i.e. not "vivid"). ITV2 (along with 3, 4, Be) is at 720x576 which helps, but there are 544x576 streams running at the lowest bitrate possible which are dire. Watch a My5 stream and compare it to the 544x576 mess on Freeview and Freesat and My5 has the better SD picture. The ITV Hub has been 50fps for the last year, as long as you have a good enough connection for the bitrate. ITV Hub - James2001 - 28-06-2021 I usually do too, but I've been taking advantage of the soaps being dumped on the iPlayer and ITV Hub before broadcast. As I said though, I was only getting 25p from the ITV Hub tonight, though I assume that's down to them being overloaded and only serving lower bitrate streams to try and manage the load. As I have said numerous times before, I do consider the lack of 50/60fps streaming on the majority of streaming services to be a major issue when it comes to them replacing linear TV and DVD/Blu-Ray. It shouldn't really be a particularly hard thing to deliver, aside from needing higher bitrates. ITV Hub - London Lite - 29-06-2021 On the Firestick, the live ITV stream is 720p/25fps. It doesn't seem to like 50p on that device. ITV2 is 576p/25fps. ITV Hub - James2001 - 29-06-2021 On the Roku box, the ITV Hub got me to sign in again after the capacity issues were over for some reason. Adverts and sponsorship bumpers are back too. ITV Hub - Newsroom - 29-06-2021 ITV Hub is unfit for purpose and is excruciating to try and watch a football game on it. If you're not watching via set top box or IPTV then you're better off down the pub. It's quite shocking really that in the age of streaming they've made next to no investment in it. ITV Hub - James2001 - 29-06-2021 It's playing up for me again tonight. No football on ITV today, is it Love Island crashing it this time? Edit: And it started working again once Love Island finished... |
