Performances on Television - XIII - 27-05-2021
Although nothing can beat seeing a performance live but there are times when it's simply not possible to do so whether it's financial reasons, not having the time or the event is simply sold out, TV and streaming is often the next best thing and I wanted to create this thread to discuss all the various outlets from TV to streaming.
I've been watching BBC Four's filmed performance of Uncle Vanya as well as the Lights Up season and it's a good antidote in the absent of live theatre in the last few months. One of the performances from the Lights Out season J'Ouvert is going to be performing at the Harold Pinter Theatre which is good to see.

Sky Arts really is a welcome addition on Freeview especially during lockdown, though a few months in it has got a bit repetitive. Whether that's just the nature of these channels (most newly available channels are more interesting at launch) or because lockdown has prevented the filming of new productions I'm not sure, but even so there are some real gems on there.
Glyndebourne used to be a favourite of both BBC2 and C4 in their more arty days, but been a while since either of them ventured there. I assume they've turned up on Sky Arts and possibly BBC4 more recently though.
