ITV pull Viewpoint - Whataday - 29-04-2021

Andrew Hayden-Smith on duty tonight for the first time in a while, meaning he'll be introducing his old Doctor Who co-star Noel Clarke in Viewpoint.

Which may now be very awkward.

Will ITV still be able to show Viewpoint?

Looks like it. Will be interesting to see if they show the final episode tomorrow, or if more allegations come to light before then.

You do know all Scott has done is watch the telly and seen it come on like everyone else

Yes, but some, like me, are only interested to see whether it is airing or not, e.g. not the actual programme.

There's only one episode left to air after tonight so it's unlikely ITV will pull it since it would be very unfair to anyone who has watched it so far to be left on a cliffhanger.

It's going to be very difficult to ignore if more allegations come forward over the next 24 hours.

Andrew actually sounding pretty sombre on duty tonight now.

It did sound as if the continuity was changed at 9pm as there was a lot of spare time on the ident, and Andrew just introduced it factually rather than building up any sort of excitement

They seem to have reduced the prominence of it on ITV Hub too

It's a tricky one. Always feel for the other people who work on a show when something is "cancelled" due to the issues surrounding one individual involved.

ITV Programming Thread - Spencer - 30-04-2021

I notice the Viewpoint break bumpers featuring Noel Clarke are still going out this morning.

Seems as if Sky have cut ties now...

Going to be awkward for ITV if they continue to broadcast the last episode of Viewpoint tonight if other broadcasters are wading in the furore.

I think ITV could continue to broadcast it if they make a press release beforehand making it clear that they’re broadcasting the last episode to conclude the series as to not cause frustration to viewers.
